Plot summary

Humble, unassuming Ma and timid Cao have been cast off by their families and forced into an arranged marriage. They have to combine their strength and build a home to survive. In the face of much adversity, an unexpected bond begins to blossom, as both Ma and Cao, uniting with Earth's cycles, create a haven for themselves in which they can thrive.

Absolutely stunning! As the film proceeds you will fall in love with this gem of a film about the human spirit. It's a real pity that the Chinese Government cracked down on this, because this is easily the best film of the year.

Sad. Heartfelt. This is one of only two films that ever made me cry. The story is simple, the emotions are heavy. A Return to Dust is a great film! I highly recommend. 92/100
