The director's credits are mostly MC Hammer music videos. It has that 90's aesthetic: blue color filters, rainy gritty urban setting, obligatory "dance club" raves, and a soundtrack of triphop and industrial music. Films from this period have a detached feeling: we watch, but never get to know much about the characters. Interesting plot, but feels rushed... a typical early-20's gen-x girl develops stigmata and church officials investigate. It references the Gospel of Thomas from the Nag Hammadi Library. A unique take on the "possession" theme.
Thanx!!
