It was an okay film. As one comment mentioned, it was enjoyable here and there, overall ok, easily forgettable film. Take it for what it is. I think Hollywood is really trying to make Austin Butler the James Dean or Brad Pitt of the next generation...he's not that guy.
Enjoyable film. One of those ones you might get for a christmas present 20 years ago on DVD and up watching a hundred times. In today's age it's a film you watch once maybe more if it so happens to pop up.
today's youth has no idea what a good movie is. They are wrecked minds. This is a movie, a normal person with good IQ would rate around 4.0, maybe 4.5.
Oddest Aronofsky movie yet. Which is saying something. The plot and many of the characters hardly make any sense and all the gangsters are way too guns blazing. That said, I think Austin Butler still does well enough that you enjoy the movie till the end. The movie feels like one of the many run of the mill NY movies made in the 80's.
badass joow pair D'Onofrio and Schreiber lol...movie is very weird tonally first 30-40min was all around ok to good but then it fell apart when Matt Smitt character returned [he was absoltely abysmal]...Butler got this freaky looks [face expression] but he was IMO here the best part and is definately lead material even if he wasn't great here...and why they constanly cast Zoe Kravitz, she is a decent actress but she has this i dont take baths and i like drugs looks that always take away fro movie...anyway very frustrating Arafnofsky movie...his every movie is worse than the last one
It's tough to watch the main character, who has autism, face such difficult challenges. I'd rate it a 2.7 out of 10. And seriously, who walks around with a bag full of cash? Jeeez!
I REALLY enjoyed this! I was very hesitant about his doing yet another Elvis impersonation in another film role, but I didn't see that at all. I loved the rest of the cast, too. It was a surprise because I went into it without knowing who was gonna show up next. Great acting and great dialogue. I highly recommend it!
It was alright, watch it once and be entertained, not something you're going to keep downloading year after year.
This movie couldn't decide if it wanted to be a quirky comedy or a gritty drama. I want the Darren Aronofsky that brought us The Wrestler back, that guy knew how to stick to a genre.
Thought it was great! Rollicking crime adventure set in the gritty 90's . Doesnt take itself too seriously and allows the actors to have a bit of fun playing their parts. The Russians ,the Jews and the cat made the movie. That cat shoukd win an academy award.
