Remember Armageddon and Deep Impact. Well, The Abyss, Leviathan and Deep Star Six all came out in 1989. This one ranked No. 2 with me behind The Abyss. The acting saves a sillier plot. I'd watch it again.

Infinitely better than DeepStar Six, which is forgettable and low grade. Enjoyed this movie which has vibes of Alien and such movies.

Oh yes, the year of underwater movies. We had The Abyss, Deepstar Six, and then this. It's not that great of a movie really. Because it's so old and Peter Weller being the altruistic toxic masculine male character he is so epitomized for in the 80s, that's what makes it great. The acting is great. They didn't care about perfect teeth, hair, and makeup. The 80s man. Those were the days of good acting, little to no cgi, real props and sweat and blood and no one sued if they got hurt.

Not as bad as some make out.... Still not as good as Deep Star Six or The Abyss but worth a look see all the same 5 maybe 6 out of 10

I remember this was competing with DeepStar Six. This is poorly written and bad acting. Can't remember if DeepStar was better or not.

Great movie!

A great B movie so unrated !

Production Designer: Ron Cobb, who also did ALIEN.

Ah yes. Thank you, Freeman!
