Thank God for Ricky Gervais. Truly. In an era where comedians face actual consequences for their words—like, gasp, critical tweets—Gervais stands alone as a beacon of courage. While lesser comics waste their time punching up at power structures, Gervais has the real guts to go after the truly powerful: busboys with sinus problems, dwarves in the Special Olympics, and the long-dead mother of a theoretical rape victim. His commitment to "free speech" is breathtaking. Not since Voltaire have we seen such a principled stand for the right to call a busboy a "cunt" for clearing his throat too loudly. One can only imagine the death threats he must receive from Big Nasal Congestion. But what really cements his legacy as a comedic revolutionary is his willingness to tackle the issues that matter. While cowards like John Oliver or Hasan Minhaj waste their platforms on trivialities like war crimes, genocide, and systemic corruption, Gervais has the integrity to ask the hard questions: What if Anne Frank was kind of annoying? What if Hitler's cock needed sucking in hell? What if—stay with me here—disabled people are inherently funny because they're disabled? His "minge" bit at the Golden Globes? Pulitzer-worthy. Facing down ten lawyers to defend the sacred right to make Dame Judi Dench lick her own vagina—metaphorically, of course—requires a spine of steel. Almost as much steel as it takes to not joke about, say, the IDF, or Saudi Arabia, or any entity that might actually threaten his Netflix deal. But that's the point: Gervais isn't interested in easy targets like state violence or corporate malfeasance. He's after the real oppressors: four-year-olds holding protest signs and people with cerebral palsy who dare to make documentaries about their own lives. The genius of Mortality is how it reveals that the most dangerous idea in comedy isn't challenging power—it's challenging the pretense of challenging power. Gervais has perfected the art of telling his audience they're brave for laughing at jokes their grandparents would find dated. "See? We're the rebellious ones," he winks, as he collects another check from the same corporate machine that cancels people for infinitely less. His final message is poignant: Live your life without fear. Unless that fear involves jeopardizing international distribution rights. Then maybe stick to mocking people who can't fight back. That's not punching down—that's punching smart. Five stars for the sheer audacity of calling yourself a truth-teller while treating geopolitics like a Voldemort you can't name. Bravo, Ricky. The revolution will not be televised, but it will involve a lot of jokes about dwarves.

This is a 6.1 btw

Oh wow! I did not expect that! Thank you guys. I saw this movie twice already in the cinema, and was hoping to see it again someday streaming, but the distribution company was making it a real hussle.
