@CelluLad. Actually, over 1000 female pilots flew about 80% of all ferry missions during WWII. About 12,000 aircraft. They were called Women Airforce Service Pilots, or WASP. They had their own squadrons, own wings, and in a lot of cases flew a hell of a lot more hours than their male counterparts in combat.
