Plot summary

When a notorious fiend known as the "Bat Without Wings" returns to his small village after a five-year absence and kidnaps a young maiden, it's up to her family and a resourceful swordsmen to brave the horrors of the underworld to bring her back home alive.

Oddball marital arts film about a demon-like rapist

Oddball marital arts film about a demon-like rapist who sports make-up that's almost an exact replica of Gene Simmons Kiss make-up. Despite the bizarreness of that, this was a pretty good martial arts fantasy film which features a lot of atmosphere and better than average storytelling. There's lots of swordplay, comedy, mystery, melodrama, and searches for secret scrolls. It's gonzo entertainment, but it's quite entertaining. I only wish the filmmakers has excised the rape elements, which did not seem necessary.

This wuxia is "based on a novel by the late Taiwanese author Huang Ying and could be considered a macabre martial arts mystery of sorts." -Mark Pollard What stands out the most is the use of Gene Simmons makeup. It also features Joker's lethal laughing gas. Complicated plot, mediocre and obviously choreographed swordplay. For fans of Kiss and Shaw Brothers.

This is the story of the Bat Without

This is the story of the Bat Without Wings, a despicable rapist martial arts master who went on a rape/murder spree. It took 28 fighters to take him down, only 2 survived. Now, the fabled Bat Without Wings killer is back, and has kidnapped the daughter of a respectable clan. The fiancee, a stranger, and her father must team up and figure out the mystery, or else. Despite the intriguing premise and story, the plot is rather aimless and the fights are not very memorable. It ends up having less suspense than usual and the fighting is not as refined as other Chor Yuen films.
