captivating, couldn't stop watching and wondering. This feels like a classic that will live on. characters are wonderful and the film itself is beautiful. I really expected this to be a super cheesy lifetime film but it was good. I typically avoid romance most times but this was just so natural and soothing to watch. Even though it does have cheesy moments it still moves you. I enjoyed it

The movie is a cinematographic masterpiece. Let's just keep it real. It's an extremely beautiful story of coming-of-age romance, and quite honestly ... I'm not really into that sort of thing. But this worked. It really really worked. The tone of the film is simply brilliant. The lead role left me captivated entirely throughout, and Reese Witherspoon - well, need I say more? I did not read the book, nor did I know it was based upon a novel until I finished watching it and went over to Google to catch the reviews of the film. Seriously, that's how captivated I was after watching it. You all know what I mean. You've done that before too, I'm sure. The dialogue though in some parts was hit and miss, almost leading me to want to read the book just to simply see how well the adaptation of this novel was brought to the main screen. But overall it was a great film with a beautifully touching story and I know for a fact that it will most likely receive an Academy Award for something! No doubt. It's just that kind of movie. The cinematography is absolutely beautiful. It's one of those films that you can enjoy in the evening, but you'll also want to play as you fall asleep .. just to have it all on in the background. The music is beautiful .. it's calm and serene in most parts. Just a wonderful film that was delivered so brilliantly. I think you're really going to enjoy this one. Even if you're not into that sort of thing.

This is a beautiful heart warming drama. Definitely watchable! The leading actress that play Marsh girl does act very well, fits the role!

I thought this was a long, drawn-out story. So well acted, but my goodness, such a yawn fest.

I can understand both critics and audience, the marsh locations and voice-off are incredible and for some parts the movie is great but, other parts are a quite rhetorical and the staging a bit off, but I enjoyed it a lot and the pros make you forgive where it lacks here and there.

Its the audience that matters! Critics are a few, and the movies are not made for them, but the majority people who want a good movie only. Who cares about these critics! Enjoy a good time watching!
