Reviews praised this movie so I expected it to be good. It's ok. What makes it good is how realistic it is, but not much really happens and the characters are not interesting. I don't feel like it was very political at all. Shows the sides acting the way they would in the situations. Iraqis want the Americans out and you understand that, meanwhile the Americans want to survive and you understand that too. Give it a watch if you're bored. It's free, so not much to lose.

Great movie... gut wrenching though

I expected much more from Alex Garland. This is like a documentary reenactment done by "cheap" actors. What was their mission, why were they stuck in the house, who were these men(their personalities) - just a few of the many questions that could have been answered in the script...

Oh sure, how terrible of the Iraqis not to welcome the American soldiers with open arms. I mean, these guys flew halfway across the world Completely uninvited To bring bombs, checkpoints, and a little sprinkle of freedom. The least the locals could’ve done was say thank you, right?
