Plot summary

The premise was enjoyably original for Hallmark, and

The premise was enjoyably original for Hallmark, and the writers managed to avoid the most worn Christmas movie cliches. The charming leads carried that romance aspect pleasantly, even though it wasn't as central to this story. However - for some reason, the movie didn't leave me with the warm fuzzy Christmas feeling. Not that there should have been more holiday tropes: It's a Wonderful Life barely has any, but the relief of the joyful solution is so uplifting. A just resolution of this movie's trial (even if it's a pretend one) could have brought that same elation - however, the movie unfortunately fizzled out in that regard.
