Plot summary

Emma Warner feels like she lives Christmas year-round. As SVP at a toy company, she has had a great year with the season’s most successful toy but she is exhausted. All she wants is a non-holiday vacation with hot guys and a beach. Her assistant books her a flight to St. Johns but she ends up on the wrong plane and lands in St. Johns, Alaska, a town that goes all out for Christmas. Local holiday hero, Connor is stuck dealing with Emma who he considers a scrooge until her childhood Christmas memories thaw her to this town and to Connor.

Stop trying to be funny!!!

Destination Christmas/Single And Ready To Jingle (2022) -I'm going to be very honest from the start and say that I only stuck with this film because of Edward Ruttle as Connor and the way his butt and legs looked in those jeans. What a handsome chap.It wasn't actually the worst film in the end, although there were moments that really aggravated me, but I just felt that Connor his Sister Callie (Eva Tavares) and Sister In Law Anna (Crystal Tisiga) were the only ones that really delivered normally.Connor was a bit cruel to Emma when he first met her, but even then there was still something about him that wasn't just in his jeans.Emma (Natasha Wilson) on the other hand was quite an awful character, certainly to start with, who made baffling decisions and delivered some terrible physical "Comedy". I supposed that there was no point redeeming a nice person? She also looked like a female Michael Jackson which was quite distracting. When she wasn't being daft (Falling over a lot) and showing up executive women as clueless whilst outside of their comfort zones, she was bearable but still looked like she was going to scream "Hee-Hee" at any minute.Having arrived at St. John, Alaska instead of St. John in the Caribbean where Emma had hoped to escape the festive season, Connor did what he could to make sure that she was safe and comfortable, even if he was a bit annoying about it. Very quickly they made a connection regardless and I did like how he developed. She was harder to connect to with her need to get out of town as soon as possible despite obviously having a lovely time.As with some of the others of this genre that I've watched this year it was easier to pick out faults because so many things had irked me from the start. If the story flows well and the lead is more personable/relatable it's harder to pick up on the little things, but I did find a number of things to critique as this film went on. I could probably have noted more, but I was trying not to overload the review with negatives.Firstly, I can always do without kids singing.The aeroplane was obviously a few office chairs strapped together in front of a fake wall.And the over the top Canadian couple mentioned the wonderful lights and decorations in the town and then it cut to one barely decorated tree with no lights in the daytime.I also didn't like how farcical it was, even the music was like a dodgy comedy from the 1980's.And they slowmo'd Emma walking down the stairs supposedly looking "Gorgeous". What was that about? It was a shirt and trousers!Also it was supposed to be SOOOO cold but there was a woman on the street selling cocoa in barely any layers at all. And most of them seemed drastically underdressed most of the time.And that was no blizzard!! It was barely a flurry. Some of the snow was clearly white blankets which didn't make sense because most of it otherwise was obviously real. Also a lot of the set decoration was inappropriate for a place that had blizzards every other day and how could the airport open so quickly after said blizzard too? Especially having had repeated trouble with the one plough available to them to clear the one runway. There were lots of elements like that where it could have been more clearly thought out or executed/written better. The script and how they used it was not the best for that, with some weak dialogue at times and delivered in ways that weren't always appropriate.And all of a sudden Emma was kissing Connor on the cheek as if they'd got together at some point and not recently argued over a reveal which was fairly obvious from the start.It did feel a bit like a waste of Edward and the story, because the direction to go stupid was the wrong one for me. It seems to be a recurring problem with these films that they try to deliver humour when they should stick to the romance and warmth. And as with so many other reviews that I've written I'm going to say again that the same cast without the directed stupidity could probably have delivered a much better product that would then only need a small polish of certain props, sets, etc and I might even be able to see past the "King Of Pop" in the lead role.4.53/10.

There Are Many Better

Emma (Natasha Wilson) works for a Chicago toy manufacturer. Since the Christmas season drives their marketing throughout the year, she is ready for a change of pace when the holiday season rolls around. She decides to get away for the holidays, but a mistake in travel plans only thrusts her deeper into Christmas festivities when she is temporarily forced to board in a Christmas-themed inn.

This Lifetime holiday romance provides few surprises. Emma meets Connor (Edward Ruttle), who endeavors to renew her holiday spirit. But he has a secret that might affect her growing feelings for him. Ruttle plays his part well, providing most of the humor.

The story is corny and awkward. There are continuity problems with Emma's character; she seems to change moods somewhat randomly.
