This 3as a captivating movie until the last

This 3as a captivating movie until the last ten minutes. Then we find that Dovidl betrayed Martin by sleeping with Helen. Martin, whom undertakes an epic search to find his bother us the real sucker here. Seems like it was tacked on. Can't recommend.

The movie clearly makes an effort to avoid

The movie clearly makes an effort to avoid cheap sentimentality, because the historical background here is painful enough. The actors, likewise avoid that too. I think critics simply did not understand the size of the tragedy they see on screen as the unbearable pain of the Holocaust spills and tarnishes everything around it. I really liked nthe movie and understand the choice the director made to be a bit drier. I believe that it was the right one.
