Plot summary

Blizzard, deranged from a childhood operation in which both his legs were needlessly amputated after an accident, becomes a vicious criminal, and eventually mob leader of the San Francisco underworld.

What an entertaining movie. Lon Chaney delivers a

What an entertaining movie. Lon Chaney delivers a great performance, showing total command of his body as the legless crime boss Blizzard. Solid cast. Good direction. A decent script that stumbles a bit in the third act. Plenty of elements used here for the first time that later became staples in mystery thrillers and larger‑than‑life villain flicks. Definitely worth your time.

Cuando leí el título, creí que seria una

Cuando leí el título, creí que seria una historia de superación, al no tener piernas pensé que sería el protagonista que lucha por su objetivo y al final lo consigue después de pasar adversidades. Pero no fue así, fue sorpresivo que justamente el protagonista fuera el antagonista de la historia, siendo una persona resentida con la vida, con una maldad en su mirada que a pesar de estatura, era intimidante, con mucha presencia escénica. Realmente era intimidante, y un punto se nos revela cual era su objetivo, me resultó bastante tétrico lo que este hombre quería hacer. Muy buena película, me encanta que la historia sea narrada desde la perspectiva de este antagonista.

In probably my favorite Lon Chaney film, and not for his makeup but for his acting. He must have been in pain hiding his legs for this. You can see it on his face, or just brilliant acting. I'm sure it's the latter.
