6/10. This movie lacks basic common sense making many 'epic' and 'mysterious' scenes feel off. Acting was a weak part too. The roars and fury were great, but almost everything else felt like the actors weren't there. A waste of time.

It was NOT worth the time at all, simple as that

Feeble attempt at both historical realism and fantasy epicness. But I appreciate the effort.

More generic vikings? Yawn.

If you can look past the overwhelming mediocrity of cinematography, acting and directing, there's an surprizing and fresh take on the whole "I will have my vengeance" genre that I really liked, although subtext is non existent, as if supporting the story was done rather in-shot with the main story just by the actors being extra instead of actually shooting scenes to support the character and story development. Besides that it's shockingly mediocre, like wow. I'm a fan of any of the Skarsgard actors but this was really unconvincing, and a bit extra, almost like the Fast & Furious people made a Viking Age movie. Meh.

Luckily I saw this in the cinema and it was truly awesome. I see the comparisons to 'Vikings' as its main flaw for me was underbudgeting. Great acting and directing with an interesting interweaving of the supernatural into the generally mundane setting. Scenery and score are brilliant and really carried on the big screen. Try to get as big a screen as U can and a good subwoofer and sit really close.

Actually, I'm regretful that i decided to download and watch a movie about (The North) after I already watched (VIKINGS) series !! This movie is very short copy of VIKINGS, but of course VIKINGS was GREATER.
