Certainly a better film that its reviews would indicate. Hanks is charming as usual, and he creates a nice chemistry with the lovely Lori Singer. Carrie Fisher and Jim Belushi have a crazy, funny little subplot concerning infidelity.

The Man with One Red Shoe is pure

The Man with One Red Shoe is pure, goofy 80s nonsense — and that’s the charm. Early Tom Hanks leans into his lovable-idiot era, accidentally caught in a ridiculous CIA mix-up over a red shoe. Jim Belushi, Carrie Fisher, Lori Singer, and Dabney Coleman all deliver peak 80s performances. It’s not great, the plot is ridiculous, and the humor is silly — but it’s cheesy VHS-era fun from start to finish.
