Lesson learnt, never ever be friendly with neighbours, ever. Mind your own business. They minds their own business. Best all around. Neighbourly is a myth. No one cares. That's how life is. Ignore neighbours, always. Never ever talk, wave, chats. Pointless. Best live your life quietly. Leave them alone, and be left alone. Best life ever.

Bogeydefman3 This has been one of the saddest changes of the last 30 years. Used to be in the evenings people would sit outside. Adults would chat or wave to each other from their porches as they watched their kids play. The kids would all run around wild together doing whatever dangerous thing they had invented while parents either ignored them or waited for the inevitable life lesson. Sometimes someone would BBQ and everyone would bring dishes. I really do miss that aspect of the 80s/90s. It was such a strong sense of community among the local 10-20 houses depending on a street layout. People looked out for each other. And respected each other. If you were going to have a party you let people know, and you legit did your best to keep it down after a certain time. This is an interesting movie that kinda shows how starkly different things have become. I had an English teacher in high school that maintained that the downfall of American society was the invention and widespread use of the air conditioner, as it allowed people to avoid their neighbors in comfort.
