Plot summary

When a melting iceberg releases a prehistoric giant praying mantis, a palaeontologist works alongside the military to kill it after it attacks scientific outposts on its way to Washington and New York.

Pretty good for an old giant insect film

Pretty good for an old giant insect film. Yes it has a lot of dumb parts, like too many scenes that are nothing but a narrator talking over a cheap map of the earth, but the mantis effects are pretty impressive for the era. I watched the MST3k version, which of course adds to the fun. But as far as bad movies go, this one is actually relatively likeable. Its main problem is that it is not the only big bug movie on the block.

I don't know what all the other reviewers

I don't know what all the other reviewers here are talking about ( big bug movies?), but this one is with Lou Broclain, the sexy French actress. She seduces her victims, and while they are having sex, strangles them and seemingly finishes herself getting off even after they are dead. Kinky sexy if you are into that kind of thing, but no matter how weird the premise, she's got a great body and shows lots of it. For those of us that like B movies, it's fun
