Plot summary

Scientists pursuing the mysteries of the deep are threatened by a beautiful girl who seems to have returned from the dead and by a prehistoric sea creature that dwells in the deadly Bermuda Triangle.

I remember seeing this as a "Movie of

I remember seeing this as a "Movie of the Week" on broadcast television as a small child. With the power of the internet I was able to find it and watch it again. As a B-movie it doesn't break any new ground. However, for its time it did everything solidly. The story moves along. The loose ends are forgivable and even add to the charm. The special effects seem quaint by today's standards but they don't particularly stand in the way of the story.

This is a remarkable movie. I first seen this film when it originally aired January 27, 1978 on ABC Friday Night Movies. The memories of the enormous turtle and the beautiful Connie Selleca haunted my dreams ever since. It is a movie filmed in Bermuda during the 70's and the special effects aren't so special. However, this movie does NOT require CGI to keep you interested. It is a storyline like no other before or since, and if you can overlook some obvious plot holes and weak acting (at times) you will have made some great memories too. HIGHLY recommended!

Ugh. Boring. When I watch something about the

Ugh. Boring. When I watch something about the bermuda triangle, I want something scary. Failing that, something strange. The Bermuda Depths isn't either of these; it's just a lame romance with a giant turtle thrown in. Come on, a turtle? Does that even count as a monster? Would a giant turtle even be that dangerous? No.
