I always wonder about from what self-perceived opinion heights, some guys like that "Leofwine" dare to write their minds out, deprecating whatever doesn't satisfy their taste. Even so called serious critics many times fail to be objective enough. I'd like to know what these guys could produce in any of the areas involved in a film production. call it script, photography, set design, lighting, sound, etc. YouTube is also full of people who point a phone to them and rant for at least 10 minutes about whatever they dislike. Obviously, there's free speech, but there's also freewill. Please guys, spare a lot of us from your toxicity. BTW, I saw Se7en, etc., and that didn't keep me from enjoying this movie... but "the world" doesn't need to know it and take my taste as an epiphany or an authorized revealed truth. Wish all you a happy new year and a good life.

i remember watching this back in the avi days. this was a cool film that you'd enjoy if you don't normally venture into the genre like me. would probably get a 6.3 rating if it was released now. certainly worth a watch.

You should read the behind the scenes to this film. When the 1st draft was read and picked up, Spielberg was so scared he checked his kid's finger length (per the killer in the script having a longer than normal middle finger as an indicator to being a psycho). Tom Cruise was set to star, but then "Production Hell" kicked in and the script was ruined. The 1st draft and Paul Schrader's draft was simply like "Silence of the Lambs" (and maybe "Se7en"), but it devolved into the psychic agent mess. If you can find a PDF of the original script, read it when you can!
