The film *The Star of Captivating Happiness* is far better, even though it was made during the Soviet era. At the very least, it isn't as politically agenda-driven as the modern film about the Decembrists. In short, the film's entire message is that "one must not overthrow the authorities," no matter how wrong they might be.

Amazing what people comment when living their lives in exactly the same situation that they curse i.e. mindless submission to the state :) What a bleeding ironic humor unfortunately lost on to themselves.

The not so subtle message of this film is pretty simple. Democracy and thinking for yourself is bad! Mindless submission to the State (no matter how tyrannical it is) is good! :P nah! fvck that sh!t! :P Two thumbs down!
