Another boring movie about silly women

@Player00741: #metoo is the best thing that could have happened to the film industry. Without it we would have never had so many powerful female stories on screen that are actually told by women as they are and not misrepresented by men as it was always before.

@sparsharma: She's doing great movies now. This and Promising Young Woman are among her career-best performances.

Were these women aware that the word "no" exists?

Remember! Hollywood entertainment industry gave Roman Polanski a standing ovation while he was in exile hiding from arrest and prosecution.

Another "American story" of end-of Empire degeneracy and moral turpitude (on both sides: the (((Weinsteins))) that own and run Hollywood and the starlets (rhymes with harlots . . . hmmm) that hope to gain from the relationship). Simply a reflection of the broader social malaise and increasing irrelevance of the USSA. *yawn*

Lots of fake accusations too. Sometimes you don't need to do it for money, some girls do it for attention. I know at least one case personally where a man was jailed by a bait girl who is mentally not well, she forced her self onto him even he rejected her saying how he will wait till she is 18 and later same girl cried and pulled a victim card ''to teach him a lesson''. It was her word against his. He was thrown into jail for 5 years or so. She is doing this to others. Eventually he found out about this and said when I am out I will do something that for what I will gladly get life in prison since you made this lifestyle for me now and I wont let others suffer the same end as me.

So, you are telling me that the same industry that made Harvey is now renouncing him. That is interesting. #Hollywood_washing_away_its_sins

My wife and I watched it. The villain in the movie is an edge case. The rest of us live on a continuum of that behaviour. The point of the PUA scene was that only way for women to show they are *not* going to follow the narrative "Men are expected to pursue women and women are expected to comply" is a loud transgressive (public cursing in this case) "NO". And such a "NO", no matter how it's delivered will be transgressive--it is a rejection of a social norm. PUA antics are probably effective if the rules of the game are "Pursuer conquers object". Answer this as a moral question--not a legal one, but a personal question of "do you want to be the kind of person that does this": What is OK in order to get someone to do what you want? Is it ok to just ask and take "yes" or "no" for an answer? Where on the continuum of petition...persuasion...pressure...coercion...force is a man required to apply before he's a rapist? What if he just asks and allows social expectations provide the pressure? What if he just asks and lets power imbalance provide the pressure?

@FreeThinker the former punter for the Bills was accused of rape but no Grand Jury was ordered by the state, no evidence. But his career was tarnished. Duke Lacrosse team as well.

All credit to watapou for the original post . . . Quite amazing to see in these comments how many "anti-woke" frustrated kids, simply out of ideology, express hate about a movie they haven't seen just because it dares talking about women defending themselves against rape. So far, #metoo haven't condemned any innocent, and has encouraged women to talk about the rape or harassment they've been victim of. No made up story, no abusive condemnation, no "witch hunt" happened. No one in this movement ever advocated for cancelling people, simply making rapists and harassers face justice. You know what cancels? Public opinion and producers. Disney cancels actors, because they don't want to be associated with rape or harassment. Those "anti-woke" comments here are simply pro-rape. #metoo did achieve something: showing where the douchebags are ("woman good man bad blah blah" = spotted!). Funny aspect: those whining about #metoo movement aren't getting any. Come on, kids. Stop having an opinion over things you'll never experience. You're not fooling anyone, you're enraged because women don't approach you and the people you defend (rapists, harassers) represent a world that reassures you. You feel threatened. They did achieve something :)))
