it is old version of this movie. similar story.

The original is Roald Dahl's indeed. Which also explains why Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey is thoroughly dreadful.

@LF1138: It's not the original, dimwit. It's an adaptation, the same as this film. The original is Roald Dahl's book. As for this version, it's absolutely brilliant. Especially Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey.

awful movie. Stick with the original with Mara Wilson. Songs are bland and uninspired. Only decent song is Revolting Children.

this was such a good film. and boy, those children are versatile! i liked that they went with fairly indie adult actors apart from Emma Thompson so that the child actors can take the centre stage. i don't like musicals but this one was very good. Do yourself a favour and give it a watch, far better than the blockbuster hollywood trite that gets passed around these days as social satires and hollywood murder mysteries or superhero movies. Solid 9.5/10.

Yeah, just watched it earlier on a whim, and fair to say that I enjoyed it, like really. I give it a 8/10. I enjoyed the 1996 movie so I have low expectations on this, but heey, I liked it, it really is enjoyable.

Gran película

The new generation will appreciate this....But for the old folks Mara Wilson will always be our Matilda

@voiceofrevolt But how do i get N fatigue from the original one?

Thank you FREEMAN :-)

I see we have some anti USA people commenting here. hmmm interesting

I like musicals. Almost everything except the singing.

Guess after reading reviews, not just comments here, I will pass on this one. Some people will love it or hate it for their own reasons, but just not worth it for me.

After 2" I'm outta here.
