Plot summary

Former student Rahikainen is pushed to murder when struggling to pay the rent on his apartment. When the murder is being investigated by the police, Rahikainen struggles between trying to hide his guilt and the pressure to confess.

The film is overall competently made, but has unnecessary side characters that make the plot lack focus, and ultimately left yours truly feeling indifferent. 6/10

VERY loose adaptation of the classic novel by

VERY loose adaptation of the classic novel by the slightly odd Finnish Director, Aki Kaurismäki. It's very interesting of what it is though. A butcher kills someone for his utter disdain for that person, and then pretty much begs people to turn him in, even though people won't or die before they can. Backed by the most hip-rock soundrack you wouldnt expect in a movie like this, but it does work, this was a fun movie since I'm quite interested in the book.
