Plot summary

After a big-time country singer brags that she can turn anybody in to a country-singin' star, she's out to prove she can live up to her talk when she recruits a cab-driver as a country singer. He's scheduled to sing at a big-time NYC country night club and she puts her ample powers to work in preparing her protege.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

I get that most Stallone fans are loyal

I get that most Stallone fans are loyal to his muscled action blockbusters like Rocky and Rambo. But every actor has done something beyond their spectrum (Robin Williams, One Hour Photo. Jim Carrey, Batman) Stallone is not a funny man by any means. But he does hold his own in this wacky comedy. He and Dolly Parton have interesting chemistry together. And he doesn't have a have bad country voice, despite being required for this role. However, the film has enough gags and jokes, with Stallone's own blend of streetwise 'Nick' humor, to make it interesting enough. I know we laughed our butts off during the embarrassment of 'Drinkin Stein', and a few other places. Bottom line: it IS a must-see.

I'm not sure why I watched this film

I'm not sure why I watched this film, but I did. It's not the worst movie I've ever seen, but it's pretty bad. Stallone being turned into a Country Music Star...It's as bad it sounds. The only thing that saves it is the great Dolly Parton and her amazing voice. The premise is very simple and silly. But hey it's from 1984 and the 80's generated some pretty silly movies.
