A hot-shot police officer has more guts than brains, often landing him in hot water with his middle-aged mentor, who was once a legendary cop responsible for numerous large scale arrests.
This movie is about spectacular car chases. You can see in action the great Remy Julienne and his team. The heists are just an excuse to show car chases between the criminals and the Italian police. At that time (1977) those cars were quite fast, but absolutely not easy to drive at high speed. No electronic help, no ABS, no good brakes. The Italian Police had in some cases tuned Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfetta, but in this movie the police officer drives a Ferrari 250 GTE. The Police had to chase many fast cars, like BMW, and above all Porsche and they needed tuned cars to get the criminals. In this movie you see what in reality happened, (it's not based on true facts), even though not often. I don't even think that there was a police officer so good as the one depicted in this movie. Here the villain drives a tuned Citroen ID I suppose, and they do many different, difficult and dangerous stunts (at that time with those vehicles), thanks to Remy Julienne and his team. If you like car chases and "poliziotteschi" movies you can't miss this one. If you don't like anything of that, forget this movie, you would be disappointed. I liked everything, and I remember those times, and I enjoyed this movie. My rating is 7.5-8/10.
