Needless to say that I had never heard about this 2020 Thai comedy titled "Phrom Ruk Yai Tukkata Son Rak" (aka "My Sex Doll") prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2026. But given my love of Asian cinema, then I needed no persuasion to watch it.The storyline in the movie was somewhat adequate. Writers Phakhawat Phakanan and May Piangpaitoon Satrawaha wrote a fair enough script, though I have to say that it wore a bit thin rather quickly for me, and I struggled to keep feigning an interest in the narrative. There was potential for something more than what it turned out to be.I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. Not that it mattered, because I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were adequate, but the voice of Seethong Duangkeaw (playing Anna) and the way she spoke really was annoying to listen to, and she sort of took away from the overall enjoyment of the movie. This movie aimed at a more immature audience than I found myself to be a part of, and thus I didn't really enjoy the movie all that much. And I found out that there is a 2023 sequel to this, but I can't claim to be in any particular rush to venture out and track it down. And this is hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing. My rating of directors Athip Ketubol and Phakhawat Phakanan's 2020 comedy "Phrom Ruk Yai Tukkata Son Rak" lands on four out of ten stars.
