Plot summary

His high school teacher issues an ultimatum: turn in a science project or flunk. So Mike Harlan scavenges a military base's junk pile for a suitable gizmo. He finds one... and unwittingly unleashes the awesome power and energy of the unknown. Twisted dimensions. Time warps. If you were a teenager in the 80s

If you were a teenager in the 80s you probably watched this on rental because your friend loved it. Fit the younger generation that has no idea that if a movie wasn’t done of the select few they chose to advertise you never even knew it existed until someone accidentally discovered it at the local rental. Like Better Off Dead there were so many great teen movies in the 80s that weren’t John Huston so they didn’t get promoted. This is one of the ones we all loved but got tossed in the dust bin of history. I so wanted to be Mike when I was in JR High; cool grease monkey that gets the undiscovered hot nerd (turns out it went just like that a few years later). It’s a fun movie with a lot of awesome one liners from Fischer It’s a good ride with plenty of plot holes but you won’t care reliving what the 80s really were like. My college aged son and I just watched it and he had a good time Give it a watch!

I'm really not entirely sure what I just

I'm really not entirely sure what I just watched. I remembered liking it the last time I saw it...but that was back in 1986, when I was 8. Watching it again exposes it as the incomprehensible jumble of sci-fi tropes that it is. Still, it has that undeniable 80's charm about it...sadly, it has nothing else.
