No politics in this one. Filmed a couple

No politics in this one. Filmed a couple of years ago, it focuses on pregnancy and motherhood. She still finds unexpected angles and they are sharp. If you feel guilty laughing at some jokes, remember it's not an advice book. For first-timers, you do have to get used to her voice.

This special didn't do working moms any favors

I adore Michelle Wolf's previous specials. Since her last one, she had a baby. That shows not only in the topics she chose for this special, but in how lazy this special was relative to her standard. If anyone cares to count the ratio of applause on political points vs laughter, you'll see what I mean. My read was that she didn't spend the time developing enough the material, and so she filled half the time with platitudes designed only for applause and zero laughts. The good bits are absolutely still there, and still very much in her voice. But she needed 2.5 times as much genuine comedic material to justify this hour.
