Was this show racist? Absolutely! It's intention was

Was this show racist? Absolutely! It's intention was to highlight the ridiculousness of racism. But it highlighted class, too: in this show, the wealthier Tory voter wins every argument hands down. Isn't that hilarious?

A product of it's time and a tricky

A product of it's time and a tricky one to rate given it's less than "PC" script and subject matter. However, if you can manage to ignore modern sensibilities and judge it on its own terms it's one of the more entertaining t.v. sitcom to movie "conversions". Likeable characters, a fun plot and sub-plots and a very amusing ending.

Good, but not great, distillation of the tasteless

Good, but not great, distillation of the tasteless but funny series about constantly competing black and white neighbours is probably funnier if you haven't seen the original series.
