I gave it a pass from reviewing it, but I keep seeing that it is good. Well, it is not. This live action is almost a copy of the animation movie. And by almost I mean its a sht 50% copy. They took out a character that was "important", changed the arc of some chars and so on. While that could've been fine, the script is also sht. Too much du*b decisions and dialogue. The acting is sometimes fine, the pacing is all wrong, the directing is..not. The vfx are meh, the cinematography is decent enough.
When people say it is a good movie, cause it made them remember the animation one, thats just wrong. "I've enjoyed this movie" IS NOT the same with "a good movie". You can also enjoy bad things. And thats ok. But you do need to know it is a bad movie.
Its like saying "I enjoy watching Hitler's paintings, he must be a good person". So, no. This is not a good movie. Just because you remember a better one (the animation), it doesn't mean this is a good movie. And "ohana means family" its something from the animation one. Here, ohana means "leave your sister with the neighbour and you go have fun, cause you have such a big brain and you deserve it". And before you go full ****** and say she never did, watch it again. Yes, she did. Things worked out in the end, but first she went all "you mean its ok for me to go?". That means she made that decision FIRST. Fkin sht dumpster fire movie.... Go watch the animation instead. Better and funnier. Have a lovely day.
@Bitterswt1 - I can relate to that. I only saw the original because my mom loved the Disney films. I enjoyed them mainly because I liked seeing her enjoy the films. Without her to watch iy with, I think seeing this would just seem sad.
Yet another live-action reboot nobody wanted or asked for of a beloved Disney classic. This dumpster fire goes out of its way to take a steaming dump all over the original with its emphasis on family bonds taking priority over personal needs and desires.
Memories come rushing back watching this. It's just as good as the original - Lilo's so cute & Stich's animation's awesome. Brings tears thinking bout my mom just passed not long ago ."Ohana means family - no one gets left behind or forgotten."
The glitch was in the original upload, which was only here for a short time (1 hour?). It was like a small section of the screen was blurred out, similar to how they do when you want to obscure a logo. It kept moving around though. I'm assuming this version is clean.
Jumba is just a straight up villain, that has no redemption to make him a warm uncle-like character in the end. & his relationship with Pleakley was strained/ awkward at best. Lilo still gets taken away from Nani by CPS, & Stitch wasn't nearly as relatable as his animated version. This was fine, if you have no prior reference to compare with; but it lacked the original movies charm... 4-4.5/10

Proves how perfect the 2002 version really is...
