La Virgen de la Tosquera

I was really excited about this movie and I have to say that it did not disappoint me at all. An enjoyable film, not 100% horror, it is a drama, coming of an age mixed with horror characteristics.Having read the short stories, "El carrito", "La virgen de la tosquera", which this movie is based on, I can say that what we can see in the movie is pretty accurate and loyal to the original writing. The adding of the Argentinian socio-economical context of the 2001 is properly set and also helps to the development of the whole story.I would recommend to anyone who wants to watch the movie to first read the short stories and then go straight to the movie.I'm glad to know that several Argentinian genre movies are becoming popular these days, and I hope more of the kind to appear in the following years.

desappointing

I saw the high rating and also that it was an Argentinian film, which excited me. An hour passed and nothing happened in the movie, it ended and nothing happened either, a waste of time. The story doesn't move forward, the characters are shallow, things happen during the film that lead nowhere. It was supposed to be some kind of curse, but it doesn't seem like it. The curse plot goes nowhere. For a moment it seemed like it would be something like "Carie the Strange," but it wasn't. It's all very shallow and slow. Luckily I watched it while doing other things. Argentina has a lot of good horror films, but this one disappointed.

It's gets interesting ten minutes before it ends.

A film supposedly about a girl exacting revenge on a another female for supposedly stealing the man she likes and throughout the dialouge and a few female self pleasuring scenes, you literally wait and wait for something to happen, which never does and then finally the interesting part starts ten minutes before the 90 min story ends and then fades to black, I kid you not. No horror, no suspense, no thriller, just a lot of conversation scenes about much ado about nothing. So if you have time to burn reading spanish subtitle, by all means have at it but I promise you, that's all you'll be doing.
