La Corazonada is like a predecessor of Perdida (2018), which feels weird, but that's how the movie industry goes — well, on the same note, for those who don't know, Angels and Demons is actually the first book on the Langdon series, but the first movie made was actually The Da Vinci Code. Like I said: movie industry, man.
Anyway, La Corazonada, or, in English, Intuition (???) shows officer Pipa on her early days, and I think that's where the problems begin. I've watched Perdida, and I know who Pipa is, so I was expecting that Intuition would give me more context to her background, but that doesn't happen. What we get is a generic crime story that slightly hints at what happens in Perdida.
(I know that there is a third installment, Pipa (2022), which should close the loop somehow. Gonna have to watch it.)
As a standalone, Intuition is funny enough. The plot itself is entertaining, good on keeping us hooked to get to the truth. The final revelation is algo satisfying. Now, Intuition as part of Pipa's arc, it's dismissable; it does not add to her arc at all.
Regardless of both points to the story, Intuition is a good movie. I'd recommend it as a thriller or crime drama.
