Plot summary

There are very few movies I would give

There are very few movies I would give a "chefs kiss" to. This is one I would. It is a mix of action, drama with just enough comedy and romance to say this is a complete movie. I found it on the Hi-yah app which is 4 dollars a month. It's worth getting the app just to watch this movie!!!

This is a supremely well-written and performed film

This is a supremely well-written and performed film story, in which it is easy to identify with the protagonist and her love for her sister, in the context of China in a time when it was forbidden to have more than one child. And yet almost the entire story unfolds in Rome, where she does not speak the language, and her primary interlocutor, throughout the movie, does not understand Chinese. This was far more emotionally gripping and powerful by half than almost every other action movie I've seen in the past decade. I look forward to watching it again.
