Rating: 7.5/10 ⭐️ I was super hyped to reach this in my Universal Century watch order. The final clash between Amuro and Char totally lived up to the legacy. What Worked: Tomino’s visual blocking of the mobile suit dogfights drops gimmicks for weighty, gritty realism. Through my Methodist faith lens, seeing Amuro stubbornly hold onto hope for humanity’s redemption beautifully reminds me we’re called to be peacemakers. Plus, Saegusa’s sweeping score elevates the battles into an emotional, operatic climax. The Cuts: The Quess storyline really dragged for me; she’s super annoying and her betrayal feels rushed. Keeping it spoiler-free, the script is so dense with political jargon you’ll be lost without prior context. Also, swapping out established Zeta characters for new romantic interests felt super tacked on. Verdict: An epic climax to anime’s most iconic rivalry. A must-watch for UC nerds, but skip if you hate dense politics or whiny side characters.

This was a really exciting and fun movie

This was a really exciting and fun movie. After watching the other AXCN Gundam releases, I was surprised by how action packed and fast paced this was. The Mobile Suit Gundam films ask interesting questions about humanity (especially being from the perspective of humanity split amongst different colonies). Very good.
