Actually, the only treatment explicitly called out in the classic hippocratic is diet: "With regard to healing the sick, I will devise and order for them the best diet, according to my judgment and means; and I will take care that they suffer no hurt or damage." In the modern it's a little more broad: "I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures [that] are required, " But don't worry--most med schools don't use it any more.

Excellent documentary about Doctor Jim Allison, who fought the drug companies to follow his dream that drugs could be made that will empower the immune system to fight cancer. This is NOT woo-woo nonsense, this is real science, peer-reviewed and successful in clinical trials. In ten years time, we will look at radiation and chemotherapy like we look at bloodletting and trephination.
