In the Shadow of Cypress is a short

In the Shadow of Cypress is a short yet powerful animation that delivers a profound message in a simple yet effective way. It touches on a significant issue in modern life: the lingering effects of unresolved trauma on family relationships. The story follows a father struggling with his past wounds, unaware of what truly makes his daughter happy. Instead of working on himself, he has unknowingly prolonged both his own suffering and his daughter's for years. With its emotional depth and concise storytelling, this animation serves as a wake-up call, urging viewers to reflect on how unresolved trauma can shape their relationships. In the Shadow of Cypress reminds us that sometimes, to bring happiness to our loved ones, we must first heal ourselves.

A visceral, visual tale of PTSD with zero

A visceral, visual tale of PTSD with zero dialogue. Because who needs words when the storytelling’s this good? The whale symbolism is potent and the animation is one-of-a-kind. Stunning really. The camera shots are super artistic. The short story doesn’t offer any answers to the domestic and mental issues, but it still manages to be genuinely moving.
