In my personal opinion, this is Statham's best performance of his career. Yeah he's an action movie star and doesn't really do a lot of these type of movies and his get it, he is not the greatest actor out there and he's sticking to what works for him and makes him the most money. However if anyone tells me "Jason Statham is just Dwayne Johnson, he can't act" I would just tell them to watch this movie. "Hummingbird" is a very dark movie, the story is pretty bleak and brutal, the characters are very realistic ( even the MC played by Statham, yeah he is a badass and is capable of dishing out extreme violence but the characters background story explains why he is so good at violence. ) and Statham's character is also very human. At the beginning of the movie he is at arguably the lowest point that a man can reach, vulnerable, weak ( both physically and mentally ) and literally lives on the cold streets of London. As the story progresses his situation improves, but only on a superficial level. He is still very much a man who is hurting and suffering on the inside, a result of his own actions in the past. There are glimpses of hope throughout the movie for the MC and the main supporting character, who is his love interest who is also a broken person with a very dark past. A great movie, 9/10 for me. Lol already watched this movie from YTS a few years ago but it was titled "A Safe Place" as it shows in the beginning of the trailer. Nice movie though, if you haven't watch it already I suggest you go for it.
