i really don't know why this movie is getting so much hate. bottom line: for a disney movie AND a sequel it wasn't that bad. there was ONE female empowerment moment, and of course, the very necessary diversity with races, but other than that it was entertaining. hocus pocus was never meant to be taken seriously, yet people are getting so butthurt over it XD

So, I watched Hocus Pocus 2 last night. Here's my review: I wasn't a huge fan of the first movie but thought it was okay for what it was. This one started off kind of choppy and the story line didn't have the continuity that should have flowed from the first. Way too much emphasis on "the magic" and there are a lot of plot holes. It ended nicely but was so out of character with the last movie that you just had to take it for what it was. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 and the post credit scene left it open for another sequel but not sure how it would go over. Would have been nice to have some cameos of the original cast other than a scene on the TV from the other movie which made absolutely no sense other than to pay tribute to Gary and Penny Marshall. It's a watchable family friendly movie and can be added to your Halloween movie routine but don't expect the same warm and fuzzies of the first.

nostalgia is indeed powerful, i never even liked the first one, but seeing this made me happy, just for nostalgia, i was 13 when the first came out, didn't enjoy it, but this made me remember 1993 like it was yesterday, 8/10.

@Plazmatics yeah it's mostly those adults who watched the first movie as kids and loved it.

These witches aren't woke enough, needs more trannies and diversity.
