Plot summary

Wang Tiemei, a single mother, loses her job and moves, befriending neighbor Xiaoye who appears cheerful but is depressed. Their bond grows as Tiemei navigates relationships with her ex-husband causing trouble.

24年最好的国产电影，也是5年来最好的女性电影，甚至好过《爱情神话》，一看原来是同一个导演。以一个独立自主的单亲妈妈和一个女歌手为视角展开她们的坚强、困境和友谊，甚为感人，同时以小孩的嘴巴和视角铺陈开各种人生的真谛和真相。三个男性角色没有传统的大男子主义，恰好地陪衬在这两位理想型的女性周围。被小孩关于例假的童言，前夫“你读了几本上野千鹤子”等桥段给笑死。但作品也存在缺陷，比如太关注理想型的女性世界，只聚焦中产女性，塑造了一个不可能的可爱女儿，在一个没有自由的地方塑造了调查记者的身份等等，这些都削弱了它现实主义的力量。
