Let’s start with a few of their “greatest hits”—and I use that term very loosely. Here’s a lineup we can roast. Feel free to pick your target or add more: Sharknado (2013) – Because nothing says science like tornadoes full of CGI sharks. Transmorphers (2007) – Robots that definitely aren’t Transformers, no matter how hard they try. Atlantic Rim (2013) – The Great Value version of Pacific Rim, complete with cardboard mechs and physics-defying nonsense. Titanic II (2010) – Yep, they made a sequel... to the iceberg. Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies (2012) – History class meets low-budget horror with zero dignity.
You're absolutely right—The Asylum definitely has a unique (and often frustrating) approach to filmmaking. It’s like they’ve perfected the art of just missing the mark on purpose. They don’t make movies to tell great stories—they make them to ride the hype of big blockbusters and churn out quick, cheap content. It's more about cashing in than crafting something memorable. That said, sometimes their movies are so absurd they circle back to being accidentally entertaining—like a cinematic car crash you can’t look away from. Ever seen Sharknado? It’s basically the crown jewel of chaos. Got any of their movies you love to hate (or just plain hate)?
Dear Asylum, At this point, your films feel less like entertainment and more like an ongoing social experiment to test the limits of bad taste. There should be a cinematic Geneva Convention to prevent this kind of creative malpractice. Movie lovers everywhere deserve better than the baffling, low-effort chaos you keep releasing. Please, for the sake of storytelling, step away from the camera. Sincerely, A concerned viewer with functioning taste
