Good family movie

Don't trust these reviews. Coralie did a great job with this movie. The filming, the colors, the disgust, the symbolism, it's a masterpiece. You will not regret watching. Easily on my top 5 favorite horror movies (and i've watched A LOT)

this was very unsettling. It gave me the same feeling as tusk but i liked tusk better. It started out decent but by the end it just didn't hit for me

The film starts off strong and exciting, but until the last third, the abyss begins, culminating in a disgusting ending.

First part: Wellcome to Miami sweety i m Barbie, so much nudity, Second part: Go to h3ll you ug1y fr3ak i m human, so much blood. I got a black swan vibe 8.0

Bad bad bad ?

I've never been repulsed by a movie before this, but The Substance changed that. I am typically not very critical of movies either. However, I genuinely cannot get behind these good reviews with this one, and I felt compelled to add onto the Google Reviews because of my pure dislike and disgust for this film.

Excellent performance by Demi Moore. One of her best, in my opinion. To play her character FULLY nude (front. back, top, bottom, I mean FULLY) at 62, it took a huge amount of balls on her part. Don't expect a saggy, old lady body though. She's Demi Moore after all, even at 62. (Looks about 40) The moral of the movie, "Be happy with what you have lest you end up with worse" is a great plot. Some parts of the movie are a little silly (the entertainment industry is notoriously hard to break into and the "young Demi" character becomes an instant, overnight megastar. Very unrealistic. Cute actress playing her, but all that? Not really.) but overall, definitely worth watching and I wouldn't be surprised if Moore gets an Oscar nomination out of this. 8/10

Congrats to Demi Moore on the long-deserved Golden Globe win. It's time for a rewatch, I guess.

@asco13 come on it is not a bad movie, sure you can certainly pick it apart if you want to but if you look at the "sum of it's parts" it is really one of the best moviesI have seen in a long time. I was completely captivated by this movie - entertaining the entire runtime. That is very very rare nowadays, most movies put me to sleep since it is always the same thing over and over

First half: 6,4/10 (Promising plot). Second half: 1/10 (Boring and worst decisions of the main characters, illogical audience reactions, main character travels home and back to studio in zero time, etc...). Not good.

As empty as it is sensationalist. Cinema for baby YouTubers. A film that does not live up to the worst episode of a Black Mirror.
