This is essentially a compilation of the first

This is essentially a compilation of the first 13 episodes, give-or-take, of the Gurren Lagann TV series, squashed down to two hours. Where the movie differs is that the ending portion consists almost entirely of new animation. It's a must-see for fans of the TV series, but new fans can watch it and understand what's going on-- and if their interest is peaked, then they can move on to the TV series.
