Plot summary

With the Gyaos re-emerging, Gamera's ties to humanity have been severed with his bond to Asagi broken. Nagamine and Asagi investigate while an orphaned girl named Ayana discovers a new creature she names Iris. Nagamine and Asagi must reach Ayana before she takes her revenge on Gamera, who she blames for the death of her family.

The final film in Gameras' second era closes with a dark, somber tone and offers the message of getting over resentment through one of the most exhilarating Kaiju films ever made. Rating: 85%

This is my least favourite of the ‘modern’

This is my least favourite of the ‘modern’ trilogy but my third favourite of the franchise so far. There is an excellent new kaiju that reminds me of a Pokémon with different evolution forms and gigantamax. Whilst it is a good film it is let down by being quite surreal and hard to follow the story with so many elements irrelevant to the actual story. The human story lets down the monster action. I liked seeing two kaiju indoors, never seen that before. Also this has probably the best sense of scale in any kaiju film ever, they look really huge. Definitely worth watching but not quite as good as the first two in this trilogy.
