A new servant embarks on an unlikely relationship with the youngest daughter of a prominent English family. Simultaneously, rivalries are spilling over in the Davenport family, led by the Lord and Lady as they also weather the epic failure of the wedding of their eldest daughter to her caddish cousin.
Brilliant! I had a lot of fun! Unfortunately this humor is not for everyone. Poor brainless people, and I noticed that there are a lot of them here, can't appreciate a movie like this. For you there is Barbie, enjoy it! 10/10 for Fackham Hall!
Just dreadful. I can't believe Jimmy Carr (an acerbic, sharp comedian) would put his name to this trainwreck. There's absolutely none of his signature style in here...
This reminds me of Murder By Death... Completely silly, dry, slapstick humor that doesn't take itself seriously. Mel Brooks is the last one to make films like this. Its so refreshing to see something like this again. Absolutely fantastic.
@annalouisaa8 in that case thanks for your honest and thorough review of the first twenty minutes. I can't wait for your upcoming review of the outside of a banana
The humor in this film is for the ages between 12 and 16. Every minute you get slapped in the face by a flat joke that is always out of context. The plot is a mash of all the British cliches one could expect in all their films of that genre. It's a solid 2/10
