Plot summary

After striking it rich on a large gold strike, a prospector retires to the quiet life on a Caribbean island but ends up coping with an alcoholic wife, a headstrong daughter, and Miami mobsters who want to build a casino.

Look I like symbolism in movies about greed as much as the next guy, but this tried way to hard to be a creative inventive type of film instead of telling a movie in a straight forward way.

Eureka is an excellent film. It is about Arctic prospector Jack McCann who becomes a rich man when he strikes gold in 1925. Gene Hackman and Theresa Russell give amazing performances. The screenplay is well written. Nicolas Roeg did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama. Eureka is a must see.
