Unlike more modern apocalyptic films this really has a well done and surprising story - I still remember it since I saw it first back in the seventies.

Still a chilling tale about humans battling a higher intelligence, like the events in the Discovery vessel a couple of years before. The film was heavily chopped up by the studio executives and it failed to deliver massively when it came out in cinemas. Fortunately, it got some cultreputation after and the director's cut was released long after Bass died. May he rest in peace.
