Herzog’s documentary ventures to Antarctica not for spectacle

Herzog’s documentary ventures to Antarctica not for spectacle, but for the strange poetry of human and natural life at the planet’s edge. From eccentric researchers to haunting ice landscapes, it’s bleak, surreal, and quietly profound. Sharp, meditative, and never dull, Herzog turns isolation into a canvas for existential reflection — a compelling study of humanity confronting the sublime.
