A genre classic that I've watched multiple times

A genre classic that I've watched multiple times and enjoy every time. What we have here is an engaging story in a beautiful environment, charismatic characters worth rooting for, and competent direction and camerawork. The movie has obvious flaws: The dubbing in the English version is bad, some of the effects and gore are laugh-out-loud stupid, and there's enough exploitative content of various kinds to guarantee this movie would never be made today. This is not for everyone. But if you're into this kind of 70s-80s campy film and not easily offended by nudity and fake blood, you should really give this a chance. I don't give 5/5 very often, but I do here enthusiastically.

This was recommended to me, I think, because I had seen Cannibal Holocaust recently. I assumed maybe this was a prequel to that movie as the summary seemed so similar to it, and I wondered if this was about "the French expedition into the jungle that never came back." It's not. Not much to say about Emmanuelle (and the Last Cannibals), the subtitle seems to vary. There were soft porn scenes and mostly-nude native men eating human organs. There were ritualistic rape scenes. There was one good sex scene that kinda got me?but the rest were meh. The ending was cartoonish. The boat doesn't start and the angry natives are approaching, but we know that there's plenty of (Black) Emmanuelle sequels to follow so we know that the boat will start at the last minute and Emmanuelle is handy with a rifle. Sorry if I spoiled the ending but Emmanuelle has to survive to keep pumping out these movies.

Eurosleaze at it's finest. Someone please tell me why during a sex scene the camera cuts to a chimp smoking a cigarette? Nevermind I don't need an answer this is what you would expect.from Joe D'Amato. Lots of nudity and gore.
