Plot summary

During the United States' 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan, a group of female soldiers posing as medical relief are sent back in to rescue a group of kidnapped teenagers caught between ISIS and the Taliban.

The film is ok. Not mind blowing, but not terrible. This is for people who want to watch some action to rescue hostages and minimal special effects.

Eva Green is in my estimation, a really

Eva Green is in my estimation, a really decent actress, so why on earth is she in whatever this is supposed to be? "Dirty Angels" is weighed down by a horribly hammy, pro US story, where allegedly kind old Uncle Sam (the other one who doesn't finance middle eastern extremists), takes on the mean old Middle Eastern terrorists, for the umpteenth time. Its entirely predictable fare, with the misogynistic terrorists getting their butts handed to them by the virtuous, if unkempt, female hit squad. Action is not well done, its clumsy and feels unbelievable. Characterisations are of the cardboard cut out variety, so no wins there either. In summary, I managed about two thirds of this before walking away. Its just not good on any level, squandering some genuine acting talent. What a shame.

Why does Eva Green get so many crappy movie roles these days...

Eva Green is one of those actresses that I will watch in almost anything. She was fantastic in Casino Royale and Miss Peregrine but since then her best roles have been in french movies like D'Artagnan. She still performs admirably in what is a very basic action movie.There really is nothing new with this movie. Basic action scenes, girls trying to tough guys and some very bad dialogue. If this movie featured men it would've have Dolph Lundgren as the lead and a couple of UFC fighters in the rest of the cast.Ruby Rose... in over ten years of acting she has not improved at all. In fact, I would say she has gotten worse. I know a lot of famous actors have made it on their looks only or by using 2 different facial expressions but it just doesn't work for her.
