Plot summary

Erin joins her dad Doug for a Christmas in the family’s former hometown of Aurora on a mission that is part business – selling the family home – and major bucket list item for Erin to see the Aurora Borealis light up the Northern sky. Realtor Lori and family friend and local tour guide Trevor create a Christmas inspired at every turn by faith, love, and hope, so much so that Christmas bells hung over decades in a forest grove ring an unbroken song, a harbinger of miracles to come.

Couldn't even finish it

Could have been great, the Auroras are a perfect theme, but his character is really grating. Feels like if mansplaining were a person. Hers isn't much better, very bland. No sparkle, no thrill, just boring and feels kind of like a sermon. Also, she's meant to be from Boston and we're supposed to believe she has seemingly zero idea what cold feels like? Just feels like another way to make her character seem clueless and in need of instruction (you know, for basic life skills like dressing in cold weather). Probably one of the worst things I've ever seen.

Proof that a good cast isn't enough

The cast was very strong, but without a good script or chemistry, the whole affair seemed empty.Jill Wagner uplifts any movie she appears in, and does so here, but her presence only serves to emphasize how uninspired this story is.Jessie Hutch is competent, but there just isn't much between him and Wagner to make us care whether they stay together.Bruce Boxleitner is always fun to watch, and does, a decent job here, but like the other stars here, he is given little to work with, and his part feels like an unnecessary add-on. Unfortunate, because it is a waste of talent.The blame lies with the writing. Nothing much happens during the entire runtime. Jill Wagner deserves better. Maybe next time.2024 GAF C+

Writer(s) needs to check some facts

Sorry, but throwing some big names in this can't hide the fact that it's poorly written. The biggest problem is the big plot: that night after night they can't see the northern lights. But this is explained by a guy that "feels it" in his gut about atmospheric conditions (on a perfectly clear sky night) not being right for the lights to show up. Weather plays into it only if it makes clouds thick enough to block, but that isn't what's happening here. I tried to post a link to real facts about weather and the northern lights but that isn't allowed. Just search "does weather affect aurora borealis"
